Mad.

The Idea was originally inspired by The Mad Hatter, from Tim Burton's new "Alice In Wonderland". The colour schemes fit similar to his, consisting of Purples, Greens, Blues and Pinks.
Though it may not be clear from the photos, I have contrasting eyes. One eye had primarily purple eyeshadow, and has Vibrant green eyelashes, whilst the other has green eyeshadow, and deep purple lashes. I felt this reflected the madness which Burton's character is inspired by.
Later on I then drew a bird feather, that sat across my left-hand cheek. I drew this to give it a touch of elegance, and also felt it went with the idea the The Mad Hatter's famous quote "Why is a Raven, like a writing desk?"

Two-Faced.

I named this idea "Two-Faced". It's inspired by several things. It is based on the idea of one person being dark, whilst the other is good, to the point of angelic. The colour's were originally influenced by the character "Harley Quinn" from Batman. The style of mouth make-up was based on "The Joker," and the whole concept originally came from "Two Face."

I like this make-up design, because it allowed me to experiment around both my eyes and my lips. I drew a line down the middle of my face, then applied an extremely pale shadow over right-hand side of my face - including my lips, and eyelashes. This was to give the impression of extreme paleness - White having connotaions of pureness and innocence. I then applied much darker make-up to the other side of my face, to show the contrast of personality I was trying to portray between the two halves of my face.

An Idea.

An idea that has always interested me, is the difference between how things appear, and how they are. Image versus Reality. The directing of a film involves coming out of your individual loneliness and taking a controlling part in putting together a small world. Every single thing that you see on screen came out of someones creativity. It doesn't exist. Everything, has to be dreamed. I think cinema, movies and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made films, were magicians.
The person who makes a success of living is one who sees their goal steadily, and aims for it unswervingly.
That, is dedication.
